“I value my relationships in the greater Olney, Maryland community and have raised my children here. This is my home and I look forward to continuing my practice here.

My practice cares for patients with both normal and abnormal female reproductive functions including family planning, menopause, gynecologic problems, hormone problems, and all gynecological surgery. We hold all patient matters in the strictest confidence and are, of course, HIPAA compliant.

It is to me, a great privilege and honor to be entrusted with the health care of my patients. I am so humbled and grateful for the opportunity.”

Personal Interests

Dr. Atiya Gopalani enjoys reading and gardening. She is a “quiet” feminist and has spent her life advocating for women. Her children are now grown, young adults. She is looking forward to adding grandma to her title, hopefully in the future (if her children cooperate).

Dr. Atiya Gopalani completed her OB/GYN residency training at the State University of New York at Buffalo with training in gynecology, high risk obstetrics, ultrasonography, maternal-fetal medicine, pre-menstrual syndrome, menopause, gynecologic oncology, colposcopy, laser surgery, microsurgery, hysteroscopy, infertility and reproductive endocrinology, adolescent gynecology, and surgical intensive care. She has extensive experience in all gynecologic surgery including laparoscopic surgery, endometrial ablation, hysterectomy, and laser surgery.

Additionally, Dr. Gopalani was affiliated with the Medical School at SUNY/Buffalo where she taught OB/GYN to medical students for 4 years.

Since opening her solo private practice in Olney in 1988, she has spent many years practicing both obstetrics and gynecology. Both have given her enormous personal and professional satisfaction. In 2006, Dr. Gopalani stopped practicing obstetrics which allows her to devote her practice to full-time work with her gynecology patients.
